Congregation Or Tzion is an egalitarian, multigenerational, participatory, family-friendly synagogue community located in North Scottsdale. We are affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism (USCJ) and pride ourselves on offering compelling programming, innovative learning opportunities, and spiritual prayer services for all ages.
The Program Administrator plays a critical role in fulfilling our mission. This position will act as the staff liaison for synagogue events & programs and work closely with the lay and professional leadership and volunteer congregants to plan and implement program and events, including logistics and communications.
This position will also support our clergy team (Rabbi and Cantor) providing administrative assistance through meeting scheduling, various communications, and interacting with congregants politely, sensitively and effectively.
We are looking for someone who approaches their work with a positive attitude and is confident with the following required skill set:
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and attention to detail.
• A reliable individual who can work independently but also part of a team
• Comfort working in a synagogue community
• Working knowledge of Judaism and the Hebrew calendar
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Staff liaison and coordinator for synagogue activities of all kinds, including Shabbat Dinners, fundraisers, family and empty nester programs, holiday celebrations and congregation-wide events.
• Coordinating, planning and implementing the B’nai Mitzvah Program (ie: date reveal events, orientation, preparing and ordering materials, scheduling of meetings and tutoring, working directly with the finance department, serving as a contact for B’nai Mitzvah families and hands-on details of each B’nai Mitzvah service.

• Managing clergy calendars, meeting schedules and communications (email, texts, phone, etc.)
• Committee (lay leaders and volunteers) administrative support
• Working with internal team including Clergy, Executive Director, Synagogue Administrative Assistant, Controller, Facilities Manager.
Qualifications:
• College degree preferred
• Experience in project coordination, event planning, administrative assistance or related roles.
• Proficient in computer use, especially the Google suite of products
• Database proficient (Shul Cloud)
• Knowledge of social media platforms a plus
Hours: Full Time: Monday-Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm with additional hours needed for special events and holidays.
Salary Range:
$48,000-$52,000
